About
Hi, I'm Vic, a maker based in Taiwan with a background in mechanical design and electronics.
VIC Maker Lab is where I document things I've actually built and run: laser-cut mechanisms designed in Inventor and Rhino, Arduino and ESP32 projects, FPGA experiments, and the small AI and automation setups running on my home server (an ASUS Ascent GX10).
What you'll find here
- Build logs: what the project is, the parts and wiring, the code, and the mistakes along the way.
- Tested setups: Linux services, scripts, and APIs, written up only after they've worked on my own machine.
- Honest limits: if something is an example rather than the exact code I ran, or a detail I haven't verified, the post says so.
How these posts are written
Many posts are adapted from my Traditional Chinese blog, Vic's Iteration Notes, and every adapted post links to its original. I write with the help of an AI assistant (Claude). It drafts and edits, and the projects, photos and results are real and checked against the actual builds and logs.
